Hospital Quality - How Do We CompareYou, the patient, have the right to know how our health system compares to state and national quality performance measures (as determined by the Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and other national agencies reporting on quality) to help you make an informed health care decision.

On this web site, we provide you the most current quality data possible for Memorial Health System available anywhere. To help you compare the quality of our performance, our quality measure reports include the average performance of Colorado and national hospitals as well as the minimum score of hospitals ranked in the top 10% in the nation.

How to use the Quality Reports:

Quality measures, also referred to as quality indicators, can be used to report how well an organization provides care for patients undergoing certain procedures and/or for patients with particular medical conditions.

Quality measures assess aspects of health care structure (such as types and availability of services), outcomes (such as infection rates, mortality, length of stay), or processes (such as giving antibiotics prior to and after certain surgical procedures). Quality measures can have applications for measuring performance of hospitals, health professionals and physicians.

Research was conducted to determine the established or emerging quality measures for the reported procedures and medical conditions. For each procedure or medical condition, published standards have been identified. In addition, you will find information about the sources used to establish each quality measure. These quality statements provide relevant information needed to help you make more informed decisions about your health care.

At Memorial Health System, we report our latest quarterly quality data. In addition, we post comparative state and national quality performance measures provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Joint Commission and other quality reporting agencies as indicated.

The primary objective of our quality reporting is to provide you, the patient, a reporting format that 1.) is quick to understand, 2.) is easy to understand and 3.) reflects our most recent hospital quality data.
