Memorial BenefitsMemorial Employees Enjoy Excellent Benefit PackageMedical Plans: At Memorial Health System, we offer plans that provide medical benefits for full and part-time employees and their families. Our plans offer both in and out-of-network choices and upon enrollment coverage becomes effective the first day of employment. . Dental Plan: A dental plan is offered for full- and part-time employees and their dependents. Covered services include preventative care, basic and major restorative care, and orthodontic care for children up to age 18. Employees share in the premium costs and upon enrollment, coverage becomes effective the first day of employment. Vision Plan: Memorial offers a vision plan for full- and part-time employees and their dependents. The plan includes coverage for vision exams and the purchase of frames, lenses and contact lenses at both in and out-of-network providers. Employees pay the full premium cost for this plan through payroll deduction and upon enrollment coverage becomes effective the first day of employment. Note that our medical plans cover one vision exam per year for covered participants. This separate vision plan provides additional coverage for the other items listed here. Life Coverage: Full- and part-time employees receive free life insurance coverage. Eligible employees will be covered according to the following:
Supplemental life insurance is available through voluntary plans with PERA (Public Employees Retirement Association of Colorado) and ING. The employee pays the full cost of the premium for these plans through payroll deduction. Evidence of Insurability may be required. Short-Term Disability: Short-term disability insurance is offered to all full- and part-time employees. The employee pays the full cost of the premium through payroll deduction. The short-term disability benefit pays up to 60 percent of your base salary for a maximum of 26 weeks with a 14 day waiting period for an accident or illness. Upon enrollment, coverage becomes effective the first day of employment. You are also provided a free disability plan once you have five years of Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) service credit. Long-Term Disability: A long-term disability plan provides protection for you and your family should you become disabled for a period of time exceeding 180 days. Full- and part-time employees are eligible for this benefit which pays up to 60 percent of your pre-disability salary. Memorial pays the full premium cost of the coverage. Coverage becomes effective the first day of employment. Option to Waive Medical Benefits: Full- and part-time employees are given the option of signing an agreement to waive our medical plans if they can provide proof of coverage under another medical plan. Additional compensation for participation is paid as long as other medical coverage continues. Flexible Spending Accounts: M-Flex is a plan that allows you to set aside pretax money into accounts for non-reimbursable medical expenses and dependent care expenses. You may sign up for one or both of these accounts if you are a full- or part-time employee. You determine an annual amount you want to pledge and it will be deducted pre-tax from your paycheck. You need to use your flex money or you lose it.
Employee Recognition Programs:A.C.E. Award program is an employee appreciation program where coworkers or patients (or their family members) can recommend employees for recognition related to extraordinary customer service. Winners may choose a prize from one of several categories.
Other Available Benefit ProgramsCritical Illness Insurance: Memorial offers employees a voluntary insurance plan that will pay money to an employee or their spouse upon occurrence or diagnosis of a covered critical illness. Employees pay the full premium cost for this plan. Education Reimbursement: After six months of satisfactory employment, a full-time employee may receive reimbursement for 100 percent of the cost of tuition, books and approved fees, up to a maximum of $2,500 per year. A part-time employee may receive reimbursement for 100 percent of the cost of tuition, books and approved fees up to a maximum of $1,250 per year. Some foreign language and sign language classes are included. Education and Training: A wide variety of clinical, non-clinical, leadership and computer classes are offered by Memorial. Participation in management summits and leadership opportunities is encouraged. Employee Assistance Program (EAP): We recognize that personal concerns can and do have an effect on morale, attitude and productivity. An EAP is provided to assist you and your family in resolving personal problems. The goal of this program is to help you evaluate your concerns and provide some initial counseling and help in the early stages of a problem before there is an adverse impact on your job. Initial counseling is provided at no cost for up to three visits per year. Further counseling, if necessary, may be charged to your insurance according to the coverage allowed by your plan or partially provided at a discounted rate.
401(k) and 457: Employees can contribute pre-tax money to a 401k and/or 457b defined contribution retirement plans. Paid Time Off (PTO/VSH): Memorial provides paid time off for regular full-time and part-time employees based on hours worked for vacation, short-term illness and holidays. Hourly employees begin accrual at maximum of 23 days per year. Salaried employees accrue 28 days per year. A maximum of 320 hours may be carried over into the next year. Unused PTO is paid upon termination of employment. PTO includes time for short-term illness before hours under the Extended Illness Plan are accessible. Extended Illness Plan (EIP): Regular full- and part-time employees accrue EIP at the rate of .0269 hours per hour paid, not to exceed 2.154 hours per pay period. This is equivalent to seven days (56 hours) per year. EIP may accrue up to 480 hours. These hours are not payable upon termination of employment. Holiday Pay: Time and one-half is paid for hours worked on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. Recognition and Celebrations: Memorial celebrations include special recognition events, fun seasonal employee activities, cultural diversity events and many career-specific and organizational events.
